Plot

Flashback

The episode starts with Verbal Ase explaining the context of Black Panther Vs Sonic, and promoting his channel before the intro starts. After the intro, Verbal Ase welcomes everyone to the 13th episode of Cartoon Beatbox Battles, and reveals that Black Panther will be going on to the Quarter-Finals. Black Panther grabs Verbal Ase, yelling at him to say his real name "T'challa". Verbal Ase says it, then figure s out that's how to say Black Panther's real name. Black Panther is satisfied, then leaves.

Introducing the competitors

Verbal Ase first introduces Pennywise to the ring, in which Pennywise gifts Verbal Ase a birthday cake. Verbal Ase tells him it's not his birthday, with Pennywise pushing Verbal Ase to eat it. Verbal Ase runs away, and introduces Patrick. But, before he introduces Patrick to the ring, he uses an airhorn to wake Patrick up from sleeping in the ring. Patrick asks if today is Christmas, then immediately pulls up a Santa hat, saying "Merry Christmas!" Verbal Ase tells him it's not Christmas. Patrick takes off the Santa hat, then wonders why is one of Santa's elves here, even though it's not Christmas. The elf he's referring to is Pennywise. Pennywise then approaches Patrick threatening him that he will use Patrick as a star for Pennywise's Christmas tree that Pennywise pulls out. Verbal Ase then quickly stops Pennywise, and starts Patrick'sbeatbox round.

Patrick's beatbox round

Patrick grabs a Krabby Patty, then makes a beat really close to the Krabby Patty. He then eats the Krabby Patty, and chews by the tune of his performance. Pennywise and Verbal Ase are disgusted by this. Patrick is then seen with an empty bowl on his head, with the lights turning to a changing rainbow, and Patrick playing music on an electric keyboard. Verbal Ase then approaches Patrick and takes off the bowl on his head. Patrick then says his lyrics, and cuts to Patrick holding a box with "Pennywise" poorly spelt on it. Patrick gives it to Pennywise, and when Pennywise opens it, there's a piece of paper that says "I hope when you put it in the water it floats!". Patrick then beatboxes for a while. Verbal Ase is seen enjoying the beat, with Patrick shaking his butt while beatboxing. Patrick is then seen holding a Krabby Patty, saying some magic words, turning around, and when he turns back to the camera, the Krabby Patty is in his mouth, with Patrick saying he can do magic just like Pennywise. He then says some more magic words, making the middle finger magic trick to Pennywise, but it doesn't work because Patrick doesn't have fingers. Patrick pulls out a penny out of his belly button, with the Goofy Goober mascot on the penny. Patrick says he named the penny "Penny Penny" and that he really loves Penny Penny. Patrick states he's worth more than Pennywise, has better dance moves, and has better jokes than Pennywise.

Patrick repeats his first verse, with him inside of Pennywise's house, next to a Christmas tree. It cuts to Patrick pooping in a box in Pennywise's house. Verbal Ase is having a laugh, while Pennywise is ripping his nose out of frustration. Patrick again repeats his verse, grabbing glasses for the "Can't you see?" part, then wearing a gas mask cause of the smell of his poop in his box. Patrick is then seen holding the box and pointing at Pennywise, finishing his last two verses. Patrick is then beatboxing again, and is then seen as his Gorilla form, still beatboxing. Gorilla Patrick is then seen in the ring, dancing from both sides. It then cuts to normal Patrick finishing his round with "I hope when you put it in the water it floats!".

Post-Patrick's beatbox round

The crowd is cheering, and Verbal Ase congratulates Patrick saying his round was actually pretty good. Verbal Ase then asks Pennywise how did he feel about it, with Verbal Ase accidentally calling Pennywise "Penny". Pennywise growls, then states he's not too angry, and that Patrick be the one crying to his girlfriend, in which Pennywise transforms his head to mimic Spongebob. Patrick then states that he at least has a girlfriend, unlike Pennywise, but Patrick later realizes he just dissed himself. Pennywise looks in confusion, and Verbal Ase starts the battle for Pennywise.

Pennywise's beatbox round

Pennywise firstly says he likes his fish served crispy, then laughs, while holding a pictures of fish T-posing. Then two Groot's appear, being one of Pennywise's vocals. Pennywise then tells Patrick he has no idea on who he's toying with, with four skeleton fish appearing, being Pennywise's chorus, saying "It's Pennywise!". Pennywise laughs, then spawns some monsters in the ring. The crowd is shocked. Pennywise is then seen in a dark forest, pointing and stating "Someone stupid's lurking in the dark". Patrick then walks out from the dark. Pennywise is then seen in the ring with his hand behind Verbal Ase, then cuts back to the dark forest, with Pennywise stating Patrick has no nose to smell his fart, with Patrick over his pants full of fart. Pennywise is then seen next to Patrick knocking on his forehead, stating that Patrick tries to think, but Pennywise then pops Patrick's head, stating it's full of air just like a balloon. Pennywise is then seen holding Patrick stating that although he is pink, he will make Patrick turn yellow just like his "girlfriend" Spongebob. Then Pennywise gets really close to the camera, stating Patrick's gonna end.

It then cuts to Verbal Ase next to Pennywise's cake. When he tries to take a little piece of it, Pennywise comes out of the cake, scaring off Verbal Ase. Patrick then eats a part of the cakes remains, then spits it out for it being disgusting to him. Pennywise is then seen going through Patrick's dreams while he's sleeping, and removing a cord, waking Patrick up. Pennywise is then seen putting a Krabby Patty in a floating trash can. Pennywise then tells Patrick to go back to Bikini Bottom, in which Patrick and Pennywise are at Bikini Bottom in midnight, as gruesome zombie versions of Spongebob, Sandy, Squidward, and Mr. Krabs come in. Pennywise is then seen in a Michael Jackson Thriller outfit, performing the Thriller dance with the four. After this, Patrick falls down on the floor, ending the beatbox round.

Post-Pennywise's beatbox round

Verbal Ase calls Pennywise's round cool and scary, and when Verbal Ase tries to ask Patrick how Pennywise's performance was,Patrick is already asleep from when he fell on the floor, showing Patrickdidn't care. Pennywise is angry by this, stating he had worked weeks with Spongebob, Sandy, Squidward and Mr. Krabs on the dance moves. Pennywise then rips a part of his hair out from his frustration by Patrick from it. Verbal Ase comforts Pennywise, stating he thought it was good. Pennywise then tells Verbal Ase that he's not Patrick so he doesn't care. Verbal Ase then states that Pennywise is right, or is he? Pennywise then looks confused by Verbal Ase and Patrick, thinking they might possibly be the same person.

Post-Credits

Spongebob, Sandy, Mr. Krabs and Squidward are seen sweaty and tired in a gym, and Pennywise, in an exercise uniform, is training them for the Thriller dance.

Cultural references

When Patrick's playing the electric keyboard, he is wearing an empty bowl. This might reference how in Spongebob Squarepants,Patrick can't breath in places without water. But in Cartoon Beatbox Battles, this problem seems to not happen.
Patrick how a box that may be a reference to The Secret Box, where Patrick has a box with a piece of paper that he can't show to Spongebob.
When Patrick has a Krabby Patty inside his mouth as a magic trick, it simulates the time in Spongebob Squarepants when Patrick ate a Krabby Patty deluxe.
On Patrick's penny, is the Goofy Goober mascot from the Spongebob movie.
When Patrick is Gorilla Patrick, it's a call back to the episode I Had an Accident, where a Gorilla Patrick can be seen.
In Pennywise's round, four skeleton fish can be seen being a small chorus for Pennywise. They have the same look as the skeleton fish from the episode One Krabs Trash.
When Pennywise spawns some monsters from his finger, the monsters look like the one from Rock Bottom.
When Pennywise goes through Patrick's dream, Patrick's dream can be seen to be the one from Sleepy Time.
When Pennywise dancing in the road with a bunch of zombie Spongebob characters, he is on the same road as in the Hall Monitor episode, the scene where Patrick sees Spongebob standing on the other side of the road, meanicingly.
Zombie Spongebob can be seen to take the base of this Zombified Spongebob drawing.

The end where Pennywise is training with Spongebob, Squidward, Mr Krabs and Sandy for the Thriller dance is a reference to the Band Geeks episode, where Squidward was doing the exact same thing for a concert.

Errors

When it cuts from Verbal Ase running from Pennywise's cake, the first frame of Verbal Ase can see him having a rough red outline.
When Patrick in his round says "I'd give you the finger but I don't have hands" he's referring to fingers instead of hands, and when he was playing the electric keyboard, he was shown to have fingers.
In the crowd, there can be seen duplicates of a few people. This was most likely intentional.
When Patrick states that he at least has a girlfriend, he's missing his lighting.
When the camera zooms in on Pennywise, Spongebob, Squidward, Sandy, and Mr. Krabs, the background can clearly be seen changing.
Patrick’s design seems to change in parts of his beatbox.
Multiple moments of Spongebob, Sandy, Squidward, and Mr. Krabs have inconsistent blood and injuries.

Trivia

Pennywise Vs Patrick is the first episode of the Quarter-Finals.
Verbal Ase has stated on his Instagram that Patrick's remix will be of Hypnotize by Biggie Smalls and Pennywise's remix will be of Thriller by Michael Jackson.
This is Pennywise's only time going up last.
With Sonic out of the game, Patrick is the only non realistic character left in Cartoon Beatbox Battles.
This is the first episode without a Marvel competitor since Episode 8. It will also be the last one in season 1.
This is the last episode in 2020.
This is the second time where the flashback isn't reanimated to the new animation style. The first time was in Pikachu Vs Groot.
Pennywise is the last villian left in Cartoon Beatbox Battles.
Because Pennywise starts with the letter "P", This is the third time where two characters coincidentally start with a same letter, The other two were Deadpool Vs Deadshot and Black Panther Vs Batman.
