Black Panther Vs Sonic is the twelfth episode in Cartoon Beatbox Battles, and the twelfth episode overall (excluding live episodes). This episode was a dedication to Chadwick Boseman, the actor of Black Panther who passed away.

Plot

Flashback

The episode starts with a flashback of Pennywise Vs Groot in the start-up, and showcasing Pennywise won against Groot. Pennywise tells Verbal ASE that "he'll float too", with Verbal ASE responding he already knows how to swim. Pennywise gets mad, making Verbal ASE run away.

Introducing the competitors

Verbal ASE first introduces Black Panther. Verbal ASE apologizes to him, telling him he doesn't know how to say T'challa. Black Panther can be seen with his head tilted, yelling at Verbal ASE that he just did. Verbal ASE then introduces Sonic, saying that Sonic may have fallen in the same ooze the Ninja Turtles did. Sonic denies that claim, stating that he just happens to speak the same language on Earth. Sonic then asks what Ninja Turtles are, stating that they sound slow. Raphael hears this and gets mad, with Verbal ASE telling him to wait until next season. Sonic welcomes Black Panther, with Black Panther telling him that he doesn't care, that his movie was terrible, and people only watched it for Jim Carrey. Sonic then tells Black Panther that the reason he is Black Panther is because he wasn't fast enough to save his dad. Black Panther then holds his mask in a sad expression, with Verbal ASE saying that was lower than the ratings for Sonic 06. Verbal ASE tells Black Panther that he can get Sonic back after his round, which starts.

Sonic's beatbox round

Sonic can be seen in Wakanda, telling Black Panther to get ready to be kicked out. Sonic's then back to the arena, making a pun with Black Panther's name, "T'chelly". Sonic's then in a kingdom, sitting on a throne and putting a crown on his head. Sonic points at Black Panther, stating "You think you're fast, but when you blink right there I'll be gone". Sonic then runs away in a blink of an eye, and taps Black Panther on the shoulder. Black Panther looks behind, with Sonic holding a laptop to the site "couldntsavemydad.com", with Black Panther in there. The scene then cuts to Sonic dancing, then doing a backflip, stating "Know you're not ready yet, Know you're not ready to get stepped on, by me again". Sonic then shoes a whiteboard of steps on how to step on a cat. Sonic then grabs a bag of "Black Panther", which is just kitty litter. Black Panther catches it and gets mad. The hedgehog is then seen with a doctor outfit and an alarm clock. Sonic uses a stethoscope and an alarm clock to identify Black Panther's heart rate, who breaks the items. The Wakanda king attempts to catch Sonic, but fails. The blue blur then dresses up in under a second, claiming that Black Panther can never see him because he's John Cena. He is then seen with a Black Panther dance, and doing a ballet spin dance. The panther is then seen wearing a tutu. Sonic is then in a doctor outfit again, in Wakanda, treating a few felines, which have really bad temperatures.. Sonic is then in a street, with a "SLOW DOWN" sign.

Sonic then cuts to the arena where he points at Black Panther, stating he can't dance. Sonic then beatboxes. After this, Tails, Amy, Sonic, and Knuckles all point at Black Panther, all stating Black Panther has no chance. Sonic and Amy then beatbox together. Sonic is then holding a miniature Black Panther, and then drops it and crushes it with his foot. He then grabs the ashes of the crushed Black Panther. The scene then cuts to Sonic, Amy, and Shadow all beatboxing together. The speed demon is then seen holding an infinity gauntlet and blows the dust into Black Panther's eyes. Sonic then transforms into Werehog, blowing Verbal ASE and Black Panther away. Scene cuts to zooming in of Werehog next to a cliff, howling. Amy, Sonic, and Shadow's singing fades in through it, but it shortly then cuts to Sonic in the kingdom on the throne, making a trick with the crown and then putting it on his head.

Post-Sonic's beatbox round

Verbal ASE tells Sonic that his beatbox round had an interesting note. Verbal ASE then asks Black Panther on what he thinks about Sonic's beatbox round, with Black Panther stating that it sounds like a beluga whale, attracting a mate. He then shoves the ref aside and tells Sonic that he mightthink his beatbox solo is good, but despite his last battle, he will never be as cool as Mario. The Wakanda king then tosses Sonic to 3 Metal Sonics as a reference to Sonic's first round in Mario Vs Sonic. The host tells Black Panther that even he felt that roast, and that him and Sonic have some real beef going on. Black Panther states he doesn't like beef. After a bit of hesitated confusion, he starts the panther's round.

Black Panther is on two panthers that are walking, exclaiming that his opponent can't stop him. He then crosses his arms. Sonic is then seen sitting on a stool, with his ears still stuffed with cotton balls. Black Panther then points at the hedgehog, stating that he will give up this fight. Black Panther then hops out of screen, and then behind Sonic. The panther then grabs Sonic's cotton balls, throws them away, and then tosses Sonic out of screen. Black Panther is then seen with his mouth unmasked, beatboxing, until he says "Alright." He then has his mask back on and is seen dancing, which cuts to Black Panther's mouth unmasked, saying "Wakanda." With his mask back on, he points at Sonic, calling him whack. Sonic looks in an angry-confused expression. Black Panther then places a dunce hat on Sonic that has the word "DUMP" on it. The blue blur quickly shakes it off after reading it. The king is then seen with his arm around Verbal ASE, with Verbal ASE crossing his arms with a smile after Black Panther states that "(Sonic) says he cares about all his friends," which makes him adopt a concerned expression. Black Panther is then seen on a TV, in Green Hill Zone, with Amy drowning, Knuckles unconscious, and Tails stuck on a tree in the background. He then mentions that Sonic's friends are never around when he reaches the goal ring. T'Challa is then seen with a megaphone, calling Sonic a stupid mouse. Thor, Captain America, and Iron Man are then seen with "YEAH" signs. Black Panther is then seen with tape, telling Sonic that he needs to shut his mouth.Thor, Captain America, and Iron Man are then seen again with "YEAH" signs. The contestants are then seen in a store, looking at a shelf full of Sonic merchandise, with a "NintenDON'T" sign in the background. It's then shown that Nintendo buys it all, with an "OWNED" box, and the "DONT" paper removed. Thor, Captain America, and Iron Man are then seen once again with "YEAH" signs. Black Panther is then seen in a field running, and then falls in a lake, saluting as he falls in it fully.

Black Panther is then back to the arena, calling everyone. The crowd then cheer with a collective "YEAH." Black Panther then points at Sonic in a party, stating to forget his party. A balloon then pops a cake next to the fastest thing alive, which the causes the cake mush to get all over him. Black Panther is then seen with his arm around Amy, stating he and the younger hedgehog "had fun last night." Sonic is then seen angry before the scene cuts to Black Panther and Amy watching the former's movie. They then look at the camera, with Black Panther saying "Alright" once more. Sonic is then seen biting his own shoe, chewing it, and then spitting it out. The performer is then seen dancing, which then cuts to Black Panther in a music video, saying "Check it out". In said video, the panther does multiple dance moves. After this, Black Panther runs to a corner of the beatboxing ring, and announces "Black Panther's back, alright!" to end his round off.

Post-Black Panther's beatbox round

Verbal ASE calls Black Panther's performance cool, with Sonic disagreeing, claiming that the only thing cool about it was when he finally shut up. Black Panther then tells Sonic that the insult means nothing from "a wannabe Pikachu". Sonic takes offense to this. Verbal ASE tells the hedgehog that Black Panther was just joking, while Black Panther has an Ash Ketchum costume on. The ref then tells Black Panther that he shouldn't be rude, while Sonic behind him holds a "HAPPY FATHERS DAY" sign. Verbal ASE then tells the viewers to vote on who of Black Panther and Sonic won the battle. The king interrupts Verbal ASE, stating that Sonic smells like blue poo-poo, while Sonic states that Catwoman wants her costume back, mocking his opponent's resemblance to Cat Woman. Verbal ASE gets an annoyed expression, and tells the viewers he'll see them next time.

Post-Credits

Black Panther is getting his nails done, as the camera zooms in to show that Wolverine and Catwoman are also getting their nails done.

Cultural references

There is hidden Russian text on Sonic's throne in his round. It is unknown on what it says in English.
When Verbal ASE holds up a copy of Sonic's game from 2006, he is talking about Sonic 06.
When Sonic pulls up the site CouldntSaveMyDad.com, Batman and Iron Man appear in the list.
In the part where Sonic and Black Panther are next to a Sonic shelf full of merchandise, there are a few references to multiple Sonic merchandise, such as:
- The Nintendo logo with a "DON'T" over "do". This is a reference to the "Genesis does what Nintendon't" ads from the 1990's.
- A copy of the game Sonic the Hedgehog 2.
- A Great Eastern Entertainment Sonic ball plush.
When Sonic is holding the Clock during his performance, the text on the clock says "Alex. C." which is a reference to the lead Animator at the time, "Alex Cherkasoff."

Errors

In one of the frames in 1:54, Sonic is missing color on his eyes.
When Sonic points with Tails, Amy, and Knuckles, Tails is missing his two tails.
In 2:48, Sonic has 5 quills instead of 6.
In 5:18, when Sonic spits out his shoe, nothing is spit out.
In 5:50, Sonic's quills stick up, akin to Super Sonic, but no super attributes are shown (Yellow fur, ability to fly, etc). In the next scene, his quills are back to normal.
